Well true to form the layoffs have begun. Not with my shop but there are small businesses all over Oregon shutting down and moving out. There is a farm feed company that grossed $3.2 million, after product, employees and all other financial responsibilities were paid out, they netted $300,000 last year in a bad economy. Their tax burden is $100,000. Sure, big money with a $200,000 profit. Where are they going to expand? What if they needed to keep some cash in reserves for future sale item purchases in an economy where banks aren't lending? They just let 5 people go to lessen the blow to their bottom line. That is 5 people who will not be paying income taxes. That is 5 people who may have to get gov't assistance to survive.

Sadly my own home is surrounded by liberal retards. These are bright intelligent college educated people, but I am almost 100% positive they voted for this shit, even as they have been losing work days. Oh, its for the kids... Really? Check the numbers. Last I understood, here in Oregon it takes $10k a year to educate each child in Oregon. With the supposed 40 kids in a classroom (numbers from the ads, real numbers are 25/class) that equals $400k a year minus the teachers $100k (Salary and benefits). What are they doing with the other $300k per classroom? Unbelievable!!
The final straw came this morning when one of the public employee spokespersons said that this new $750 million tax is just to stop the bleeding, but is not the cure....
We have crossed over the line. The public employees outnumber the private sector and we will go further and further in debt trying to fund their raises and benefits they vote in for themselves.
For years Oregon has been known for not having a sales tax. Not anymore. Companies are going to start charging more to cover their losses and stay in the black. Ultimately a sales tax. Gov't taxes the gross, business raises prices to protect themselves which pays their tax. See, Sales Tax. Salem knew exactly what they were doing...
Damn I wish I could sell my house, I would be out of here tomorrow. Problem is I will have to stay and weather this storm, as no one is buying houses, they are all laid off.

Too Pissed to Post
Oregon ballot measures 66 and 67 appear to have passed. Really, How fugin stupid are the inhabitants of this state, primarily Multnomah and Benton Counties. How can I sell this house in a shit ass economy? I need to get way south before this place kills me...

Massachesetts Special Election
With 52% of the vote in at this hour, the Martha Coakley camp (D) down 53% to 46% to Scott Brown (R) is already blaming Obama for her loss. The democrats are blaming Coakleys camp for not campaigning enough throughout the Christmas break. She was on vacation in the Carribean.
MSNBC yakker Rachel Maddow is already blaming some Robocalls, apparently setup by the Brown camp. These calls were sent out saying to vote for "Joe" Kennedy to replace Ted Kennedy. ie dirty trick. Next step likely by the Dems is a voter fraud claim. Funny there are 150k dead people still registered to vote in Massachusets, most of them democrats.
What I truly find hilarious is these people refuse to admit that there is a CHANGE in the attitude of this country. Democrats are on their way out in 2012, and Healthcare reform as written by the Democratic controlled house and senate is not welcome. Looking forward to the Change coming now.

Global Warming Caused Earthquake in Haiti?!?!

Smash up Derby
Holy Crap!!
In the wonderful thought process of the developers of our neighborhood, we have narrow streets. They said it was for the neo-traditional look. I cry Bullshit!!! It was so they could build more homes in a confined area.
To give a brief description, our streets are only wide enough to allow parking on one side only. When we moved in to this brand new neighborhood we were allowed to vote as to which side of the street to make "no parking". The lot across from me is a side yard, so to keep people from parking in front of my yard, we,(neighbors and I) elected to make the parking strip across the street. Twelve years later, with all new neighbors, except one, parking has become an issue.
It seems the idiots at the end of the street which is a completely different parking situation have made it their mission to park DIRECTLY behind MY driveway. These are generally high school kids and their friends who are visiting. One by one I have asked them as I see them, not to park behind my driveway. You see, even though this is "Green" Oregon, I own a full size 4x4 extended cab truck (the only one on my street). To back my truck out with a car parked across the street requires the equivalent of a 3-point turn around. Truth is I don't want to accidentally hit their vehicles. So if we avoid causing the situation in the first place, we can avoid the frustration of losing our vehicles to the body shop.
Tonight I am taking out my garbage for tomorrows pick up. Lo and behold, on an otherwise empty neighborhood block there is a little white truck parked where? Behind my fricken driveway!!!!!!
For the first time I went to the offenders house and asked him to move it. First he said "oh I forgot", then before getting in his truck he says no one has told him before. We'll see if he "forgets" again, little bastard.
Hey, I do admit I do not own the street, and will succumb to the poor parking habits of others when all other options have been exhausted. However tonight was blatant, as he had to reverse his truck to park in front of my work van.
Next visit is to his parents, after that things will get nasty!!
