Do as I say, not as I do.....
You knew this was coming, right? Or at least something like this.
The capital flew into a bit of a tizzy when, on his first full day in the White House, President Obama was photographed in the Oval Office without his suit jacket. There was, however, a logical explanation: Mr. Obama, who hates the cold, had cranked up the thermostat.
“He’s from Hawaii” said Mr. Obama’s senior adviser, David Axelrod, who occupies the small but strategically located office next door to his boss. “He likes it warm. You could grow orchids in there.”
Your Honor, I'd like to enter Exhibit A if I may.
“We can’t drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times … and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK,” Obama said.
“That’s not leadership. That’s not going to happen,” he added.
But what do you expect when you elect a Marxist elitist? The Soviet Commissars told the peasants to shut up and be happy with their stale bread, while they themselves dined on caviar. IT'S WHAT A COMMUNIST DOES.
For the record, even I lowered my t-stat to 68* this year. If anything, to save on my utility bills.

Hillarys letter
Dear Mr. Terrorist, Please stop trying to kill us. Our new president Barak Obama is going to let all of your buddies out of prison. He will also take money from our intel people and look the other way so you can do whatever you want. Also, you know what's really neat? Osama rhymes with Obama. See we are all feminized now so we can't pose a threat to you anymore. Our president will have our men all sit down when they pee. The only thing you would ever have to worry about is another Republican president who would unleash our Special Forces to rain hell upon you all. But Obama is our god and I am sure that he would never let that happen.
Love, Hillary Clinton

No White Male Construction Workers
Obamas Socialistic wealth redistribution machine at work. I hope you Libs are proud of yourselves. Who better to build roads & bridges, install new poles/copper for telecom lines, and hi-tech green energy generation units than handfuls of America's finest welfare hustlers and social degenerates.

Admitted Ass-Clown Mayor should resign?
Newly elected Portland Mayor Sam Adams, is in the middle of his first scandal. The first openly Queer (his words not mine)Mayor of Portland has admitted to having a sexual relationship with an 18 yr old intern, shortly after (3 weeks)he turned 18. Now the scandal isn't really about the sex, it just adds to the overall story, because fags (my word it fits) are involved. The real story is that he lied about the relationship when it was brought up before and during his run for office, what else is he hiding? A local small newspaper reporter who working on the story initially but dropped it was rewarded with a gov't position she wasn't qualified for(allegedly).
Funny story is the most liberal city is now up in arms because their mayor has made the Gay and Lesbian community look bad. Really? Chicks acting like burly men looks okay? Dudes acting so effeminate my five year old daughter could kick their ass. Please! Grow some stones Portland and accept the trash you voted for. You wouldn't want the rest of the world to be fooled into thinking you really are decent people who just want to be left alone now would you.
My best hope is that Al Qaida dump a dirty bomb on this city and rid everyone else of the filth and immoral trash it promotes.
Preferably while I'm vacationing elsewhere.

Change
The next four years are going to be great fun to watch, as long as you're not a taxpayer or a liberal.
The disappointment on the naive, idealistic college student's faces is going to be priceless. The hard lessons that Obama's fervent but gullible supporters are about to learn will last them a lifetime, and prepare the young ones for real life. The only one I feel kind of sorry for is Obama himself, for having to deal with the Congress and Cabinet he's saddled himself with.
My sorrow for him fades away somewhat when I remember that from now till he passes away, he and his family will live on the taxpayer's dime. But, that's the mark of a smart man. He's never held a private sector for-profit job in his life, has never been more than an incredible BS artist, and, thanks to a gullible and foolish electorate, won't ever have to think about finding profitable and productive work again. He'll have managed to live his entire life off the largess of the government and benefactors! GREAT scam, and he's pulled it off perfectly!
If you feel I'm wrong about all this, come back in 4 years and tell me so. I'll be here. I'm not going anywhere.
(P.S.) I see the stock market is cratering and oil prices are going up even has He speaks now. How's that for immediate "change"?

Keyboard anyone?
Crap I have a lot to say tonight on the eve of Barry's installment, but my keyboard is messed up. I spilled coke on it two weeks ago, thought I had it all cleaned out, but the lettersss keep sticg and I am re editing more than I am typing. Any spelling errors are the keyboard, trust me I rarely mis-spell. I think I have an old one in the attic, I'll check tomorrow.

Brought our new boat home
We took delivery of our new Monterey bow rider yesterday. The weather was beautiful except for the 30+mph winds and 40*. We braved the elements and took our familiarization ride. We headed out into the Columbia, with white caps, fast current and wind from the east. Turning into the wind I hit the throttle and this boat flew. It was so quick I had to back down the throttle. It felt as if it were going to take off without me. The weather is pretty cold now, even so if it wasn't so damned windy I would take it out. I am going to spend today going through it then take it to our storage space.
Looking forward to some fun in the sun this spring and summer.

No Cope and bad drivers
Ok here I am finishing my seventh day without Copenhagen. The habit urge is subsiding, and the usual triggers are getting less. One thing I have noticed though is other drivers. As many know, a large amount of my work schedule is behind the wheel. Since I stopped using Copenhagen I have noticed how many bad drivers there are. Not the usual ones either. I'm talking the left lane hogs doing 55 in a 65, and the tailgaiters when you are doing 70. I've noticed more people pulling out in traffic when they had no business trying, and I have had to slam the brakes and hit the horn to let them know I am trying to quit, oops I mean they are bad drivers. Today I watched some guy switch lanes 10 times in a five mile stretch, only to get off at the same exit I did and he was 2 cars in front of me. Typically I wouldn't have paid attention to him as I would have been packing the Cope can or spitting in a cup. Now I'm more focused and people just can't drive correctly while I'm trying to quit chewing. Jerks.

Five days, No Cope and counting
Here we are at 5 days complete now. No has been killed or even maimed. I've only lost my temper in short bursts, not enough to really leave a mark. As seen in my previous post we have bought a boat which is part of my reward. Yeah I know I have more battling ahead, but I feel really good about quitting this time.
We went and did it, Got a boat
Trudy and I went to the boat show last night to "LOOK".
Now we have a boat being held until we sign for it and transfer ownership. It is a 2008 194 FS made by Monterey. It is listed as a 19 1/2 footer, but with the swim deck measures out to 21 ft 8". We got the V-8 with 220 horsepower. The pics below are from the brochure, ours is actually Red on white, with a wakeboard tower. Will post pictures of the boat when we bring it home.

Not JUST Spanish, but downright mexican badata badata cumlota dooda, or whatever the hell he was sayin. I don't want to hear it at 6:45 pm let alone from a dead sleep. Needless to say I'M AWAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
Day 3 almost complete, Copenhagen free, but I think the police are looking for me.....

Can't Cope
Here I am day two without Copenhagen. I made Jan 7th my quit day. I am using the patch, which while helpful, is like using a garden hose on a high rise fire. @ 20 years plus of Copenhagen, each tin equal to 156 cigarettes in nicotine value, this has been a tuff 2 days.
A lot of it is the oral fixation which is lacking.
I'll post updates on this matter every few days. Every time I think I want Copenhagen I focus on my reward

New man in the "House" in just a few days
In a few short days, an African-American man will move from his private residence into a much larger and infinitely more expensive one owned not by him but by the taxpayers.
A vast lawn, a perimeter fence and many well-trained security specialists will insulate him from the rest of us, but the mere fact that this man will be residing in this house should make us all stop and count our blessings - because it proves that we live in a nation where anything is possible.
Many believed this day would never come. Most of us hoped and prayed that it would, but few of us actually believed we would live to see it.
Racism is an ugly thing in all of its forms, and there is little doubt that if this man had moved into this house fifteen years ago, there would have been a great outcry - possibly even rioting in the streets.
Today, we can all be both grateful and proud that no such mayhem will take place when this man takes up residency in this house.
This man moving into this house at this time in our nation’s history is much more than a simple change of addresses for him - it is proof of a change in our attitude as a nation.
It is an amends of sorts - the righting of a great wrong. It is a symbol of our growth, and of our willingness to “judge a man, not by the color of his skin, but by the content of his character”.
There can be little doubt now that the vast majority of us truly believe that this man has earned both his place in history and his new address.
His time in this house will not be easy - it will be fraught with danger and he will face many challenges. I am sure there will be many times when he asks himself how in the world he ended up here and, like all who have gone before him, the experience will age him greatly.
But I, for one, will not waste an ounce of worry for his sake - because in every way a man can, he asked for this. His whole life for the past fifteen years appears to have been inexorably leading this man toward this house.
It is highly probable that in the past, despite all of his actions, racism would have kept this man out of this house.
Today, I thank the lord above that I am an American and that I live in a nation where wrongs are righted, where justice matters, and where truly anything is possible.
Bet you thought I was talking about Obama? Sorry.

Back to the Future
Yeah remember that trilogy with Michael J Fox. Travis caught a portion of #3, and has now watched 2 and 3. First the kid takes all of my 80's music, and now he is into the 80's movies.
Just goes to show the entertainment industry sucks today. If they would make decent movies and stay out of politics things like this wouldn't happen. Are you hearing this Baldwin? Penn? Sarandon?

The Sun shall rise in the West tomorrow
The space time continuum has collapsed and the Arizona Cardinals won a playoff game. While they actually looked good, I am still very surprised.
On another note in the Bolts and Colts game, Franken Berry Peyton called Heads for the overtime coin flip and lost. When you have a forehead as big as his you should be calling tails to level the playing field.
This game never should have seen overtime. San Diego had it in the bag twice until they turned the ball over each time in the end zone.
So two of the playoff teams with the lowest number of wins for the season move on.
I guess it is still better than the BCS set up.

One moment of inattention
So I'm on the computer listening to the International Bowl on the TV. Taylor comes into my room and changes the channel. Next thing I know we are watching/listening to The Brady Bunch. Oh my ears, poor Jan is allergic to Tiger. I quickly recovered though and sent Taylor packing. Back to my football background noise.

Happy New Year
Now lets hope 2009 yields a better year overall than 2008 was. Sure we will still have economic issues, but if gas prices stay reasonable, I think the average person secure in their financial dealings will be ok.
We rang in the New Year with a couple of friends and neighbors. A few adult beverages and some poker. Really quite anti-climactic. I'm sure I pissed off a few neighbors at midnight. I shot 5 rounds from the shotgun, and 9 each for 2009 from the Mini 14 and 9mm. To put their worried little minds at ease all shots were into the ground from 8 ft up, into the saturated back yard. I haven't gone out to look, but I'm sure they are buried 12 inches into the yard.
Darby who had gone home a little earlier sent a message stating how clearly he heard the mini-14, it is a very LOUD rifle.
